How to Track Rentals without Serial Numbers

Low-cost rental items don't always have a serial number. Items such as crutches or a post pounders might be listed in your rental equipment inventory but there are no serial numbers to keep track of the item. 

You will need to keep track of the item, who it was rented to, and for the correct length of time.

Using 'unknown' serial numbers to rent out unserialized products does just that.

Steps

Click on the Quick Create button located in the top right-hand corner. Then click Rental from the Quick Create Menu.

A new Rental Window will appear. Complete the fields, with (*) being mandatory fields.

• *Customer/Account Name
• *Item #/Product Name
• *Duration
• *Serials - this field will be listed as 'unknown'
• *Pricing Rate

Finish the rental by clicking on the [Complete Transaction] button.
